Copy Fees and Records Requests
The Alaska Court System applies the same fee schedule at all locations. Standard copies cost $5 for the first page and $3 for each additional page in the same request. Certified copies are $10 for the first document plus $3 for each additional certified document. Research fees are $30 per hour when staff must search archived files. Audio recordings on CD are $20 per disc.

Some records are restricted. AS 40.25.120 limits access to certain prosecution files. Sealed cases, juvenile records, and some domestic matters may not be publicly available. The clerk will advise you of any restrictions that apply.

For statewide criminal history checks, contact the Alaska Department of Public Safety Criminal Records Bureau at 5700 E. Tudor Road, Anchorage, AK 99507, phone (907) 269-5767. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:15 am to 4:00 pm. A name-based check is $20 and a fingerprint-based check is $35. The DPS background check portal has forms and instructions.
Local law enforcement in Kenai Peninsula Borough is handled by the Kenai and Soldotna police departments within their city limits, and by the Alaska State Troopers for the rest of the borough.
