Nome Trial Court

The Nome Trial Court is the primary courthouse for Nome Census Area and is part of Alaska's Second Judicial District. Copy Fees and Records Requests

The Alaska Court System uses the same fee schedule at all locations statewide. Standard copies are $5 for the first page and $3 for each additional page. Certified copies are $10 for the first document plus $3 for each additional. Research fees are $30 per hour for archived file searches. Audio recordings on CD are $20 per disc.

Criminal Records and Background Checks

For statewide criminal history checks, contact the Alaska Department of Public Safety Criminal Records Bureau at 5700 E. Tudor Road, Anchorage, AK 99507, phone (907) 269-5767. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:15 am to 4:00 pm. Name-based checks are $20 and fingerprint-based checks are $35. The DPS background check portal has forms.

Local law enforcement in Nome is handled by the Nome Police Department within city limits and the Alaska State Troopers for the surrounding area. Police reports and incident records are separate from court records. Request them from the appropriate law enforcement agency.
